About the event
Not only is May 31st National Meditation Day, but we also have a very special guest coming to the center!
Join us for this special and rare opportunity to meet famed author & ultra athlete, Dr Ruth Heidrich, who was featured in the documentary "Forks Over Knives"! She will join us for a vegan potluck and then give an informal talk about how she beat cancer and went on to become an Ironman triathlete with a plant-based whole foods diet & strenuous exercise. She has won over 900 trophies, participating in 6 Ironman triathlons, 67 marathons, and won gold medals in the U.S. Senior Olympics. She has been named one of the 10 fittest women in America. She is truly an inspiration to all!
Please bring a VEGAN (No meat, meat broth, fish, dairy, eggs, gelatin, honey, etc.) dish, appetizer, or dessert to share. While not necessary to bring a raw, whole foods, and/or no oil dish, they will be greatly appreciated, in the spirit of this health-conscious event. (If you need suggestions on what to bring, ask in the comments field & we will give you ideas.
Come be inspired with us at this potluck as we indulge in plant-based yumminess and connect through meditation, food, and learning:)
Anjali, of Ayurveda Natural Health Center & Heartfulness Dayton, who generously offered her facility for this event, will be offering a short introduction to Heartfulness meditation at the end of the evening.
